New Unique Recipes You Can Cook Using Your Grill

Grilled burger, chicken, hotdogs or steak are a staple when having a backyard barbecue. However, when you always have your grill out, these dishes can easily get old in terms of taste. This time, try something new and add a little variety to your barbecue menu by preparing new dishes – simple recipes that you don’t normally grill but will appeal to guests of all ages. These will work great if you’re looking for something light to eat, too!

Here are some new and unique grill recipes to try for your next backyard barbecue:

Grilled Hot Bacon Wraps

What you need:

  • 12 slices bacon
  • 6 fresh jalapeno peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
  • 1 cup cream cheese

Spread cream cheese to fill all jalapeno pepper halves. Wrap with bacon and secure with toothpick. Cook bacon wraps in a pre-heated grill over medium-high heat until bacon is cooked through and crispy. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Grilled Herbed Portobello Mushrooms

What you need:

  • 4 Portobello mushroom caps
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Mix together garlic, red bell pepper, olive oil, salt, ground black pepper and onion powder in a large bowl. When thoroughly mixed, spread the mixture over Portobello mushrooms’ gill side. Lightly oil grill grates. Cook mushrooms on a pre-heated grill over medium heat (over indirect heat), covered, for 15 to 20 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.

Pesto and Cheese Grilled Sandwich

What you need:

  • 2 slices Italian bread
  • 2 slices tomato
  • 1 slice American cheese
  • 1 slice Provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon prepared pesto sauce, divided
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter, divided

Spread half of the pesto sauce on one side of a slice of bread then top with Provolone cheese, 2 tomato slices followed by a slice of American cheese. Spread the remaining pesto sauce on one side of the other bread slice and place it pesto side down onto the sandwich. Brush butter on both sides of the sandwich and cook on a grill over low heat for 5 minutes per side or when cheese has melted and both sides are golden brown.
